For constant and non-contact level of measurement in liquids, pastes and coarse bulk materials and for measuring the flow in open channels, such a device is widely put in use.

Working Principle:
Ultrasonic level of instruments are made to operate on the basic principle of making precise use of sound waves, in order to determine the level of liquid/ solid/ slurries. Further, other than the standard level measurement or volume measurement, open channel flow can be monitored and the exact volumetric throughput can also be verified in lift stations. Besides, with such a device in place, we can also measure differential level and can control the pumps.

In grander scheme of things, Minimum measuring distance denoted as Xm and which is also known as the “Dead Band” becomes the most regular feature to all ultrasonic level meters. Working Principle:

Pressure P(liq) on any surface and container walls at depth h, by the liquid of density d, is: P(liq) = d × g × h + P(air)

where P(air) refers to the air pressure and g denotes the acceleration due to gravity (constant for a given place) at the place of the liquid container. Replacing constants the equation becomes:

P(liq) – P(air) = K × h in short: Liquid levels are showcased through pressure difference. Working Principle:
Microwave pulses which are pretty short in form and which are powered by low level of emitted power, are transmitted by the antenna system to the measured product, reflected by the surface of the product and are absorbed back by the antenna system. Likewise, radar waves transmit at the speed of light. The time from taken from emission to its reception of signals remain proportional to the level of in the vessel. Further, there is a special time lengthening procedure, which ensures reliable and precise measurement of the transmission periods which are extremely short in their design.

Unaffected by temperature and pressure:
Microwaves are propagated which remain virtually unaffected by the peaceful temperature and pressure. Hence, such radar sensors become an ideal choice to be put in use under diverse process conditions. There are realised pressures from vacuum up to 160 bar (2320 psi) and temperatures from –40 to upto +400 degree C (that is -40…+752 degree F) and such do not seem to be any problem for radar.

Fluctuations in product organization or even when product changes completely, do not put any influence on the result measurement and such remain independent of product characteristics. As such, any fresh adjustment does not seem to be a necessary step.

Change of Frequency For All Applications:
